What is our approach?
| The initial visit involves a complete history and a physical to determine the appropriate treatment. This might be covered by insurance. After the consult, the doctor will decide the right approach for you.
Environmental allergies are assessed through painless skin testing. This is usually covered through insurance. Food allergies are tested through blood only. We use Sublingual Immunotherapy for treating environmental allergies and some IgE-mediated food allergies. We use La Crosse Method for treating food allergies. We do not treat Anaphylaxis. This SLIT is not covered through insurance, however, the treatments are generally affordable for most patients. For food sensitivities, the patient will be given a functional medicine approach to repair the gut. Additional nutritional recommendations will be given if appropriate. |
